Neurofeedback Therapy
A non-invasive approach, with low to no side effects, neurofeedback aims to assist the brain towards self regulation through the use of information feedback.
Neurofeedback is an advanced form of EEG biofeedback that applies sensors to the scalp and reads brain activity. We assess to see if brain is functioning poorly or inefficiently, and re-train the brain in specific areas to run smoothly. It is like getting a car tuned by the mechanic. This means the person's brain will work better after 10 to 30 sessions of training (each session is 40 minutes long). Neurofeedback is particularly helpful with neurological conditions such as autism, ADHD, psychosis, depression, bipolar disorder, anxiety and anger management. Neurofeedback is non-invasive with little to no side effects, easy to learn by the child, and is used with children as young as five years of age.
This is the latest innovation in neuroscience that is providing real outcomes for children with traditionally hard to treat conditions. In regards to autism, neurofeedback has achieved Level 4 efficacy based on current scientific evidence. Of the 23 scientific studies on neurofeedback, every single one has demonstrated a positive result with autism cases from children to adults, even with small sample sizes.
